We have your first inspiring story!

What did you or your idol do that inspired you?

My mother inspired me. She had me quite young and was unmarried – this was a big deal in the 70s. None of these challenges stooped her from working full time, running the household and training to be an accountant. Best of all she did all of that with a smile and most importantly, always, always had time for me.

What top lesson did you learn?

The most important lesson I leaned is that you had to invest in your education. She also said something similar to Virginia Woolf quote: “A woman must have money and a room of her own’’. I took that mean is that your had to take care of your finances.

What tips did you get from the experience to keep motived/overcome challenges?

Invest in yourself. Even if you want to be in service to others and have a family you have to look after you first. If you do this you can overcome what life throws at you and achieve great things.

I am inspired by my nan. She always said save, save, save and save some more.

If you have choices you can act.
